tin

Tin is a soft, silvery-white metal with the symbol Sn and atomic number 50.

It is valued for its corrosion resistance, low melting point, and excellent ability to form alloys.

Tin is widely used in electronics, renewable energy, packaging, and manufacturing. Its primary application is in solder, where it provides reliable electrical connections in circuit boards and electronic devices. It is also used to coat steel to produce tinplate for food and beverage cans, helping prevent corrosion and extend shelf life.

As demand for electronics, electric vehicles, and clean energy technologies continues to grow, tin remains an important critical mineral, playing a vital role in modern infrastructure and advanced manufacturing.
